Show Aging Conference To Focus on 80s; Set Here on May 3 "Rising to the Challenge of the 80's" will be the theme of this year's local area conference on aging to be held May 3 at the new senior citizens center in the basement of the courthouse in Panguitch beginning at 10 a.m. Guest speakers will discuss four major topics, "High Cost of Utilities," "Crime Prevention of the director of the area agency on aging. He will be followed by Louise Lintz, With Your Candidates." Seniors will be welcomed to the special event by Junnie Joseph, director f the area agency on aging. He will be followed by Louise Lintz, director of the state Division of Aging and Adult Services and Utah's first lady, Norma Mathesoa Purpose of the conference will be explained by Bayard Taylor of the Utah Division of Aging and Adult Services. Dee Severson, manager of Mountain Bell and Margaret Oler, Utah Power and Light's home energy advisor, will discuss the "High Cost of Utilities." Garfield County Sheriff Vic Middleton will speak on "Consumer Fraud and Crime Prevention of the Elderly". "Health Concerns of the Aged" will be discussed by Mary Ann Johnson, geriatric nurse practitioner and assistant professor at the College of Nursing, University of Utah. George Beth Thompson will address "Getting Acuainted With Your Candidates and How to Vote," followed by Bob Rasmussen, local area aging coordinator, who will summarize the discussions. Each talk will be followed by a question and answer period. Lunch will be provided at noon for a suggested donation.
