Show Edra Miller, Garfield Clerk, Dies at Home Edra Richards Miller, 70, Garfield County Clerk-Auditor and prominent church and civic worker, died Saturday, June 18, 1983, at her home in Panguitch, Mrs. Miller was serving her third term and ninth year as Garfield County Clerk-Auditor. She was also active in the American Legion Post 25 auxiliary, serving as secretary-treasurer. She was also a charter member of the Panguitch Business and Professional Womens Club, having served two terms as president. She received the club's "Woman of the Year" award in 1978. She served on the Utah State Fair Board for eight years. Mrs. Miller was past president of the Panguitch Chamber of Commerce and Lady Lions and had served as chairman of the Garfield Chapter of American Red Cross Unit, where she had been a member for 39 years. She was active in the LDS Church, serving in the auxiliaries. She also served on the Garfield Council on Ageing. She was born May 4, 1913, Panguitch, to Edward and Sarah Owens Richards. She was married to LaGean Miller, Sept. 2, 1938, Manti LDS Temple; he died Nov. 22, 1970. Survivors: sons, Richard L., Kenneth Ray, both Panguitch; Edward J., rirescott, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, two whom she reared, Trudy Miller Owens and Heidi Miller Henrie; brothers, R. Floyd, Williara Quinn, both Panguitch. Edra Miller Funeral services were Tuesday in the Panguitch Second Ward chapel with Bishop Orian J. Bauer, officiating. Edward J. Miller offered the family prayer and Irene McEwen and Pam Yardley played prelude and postlude music. Caryl Hatch gave the invocation. Speakers were Hilda Gardner, John W. Yardley, tribute by Dawna Barney and remarks by Bishop Bauer. Music included selection by Marnie Miller; ladies trio composed of Pam Christensen, Diane Fullmer and Janis Henrie and piano solo by F. Kay Richards. Carl Hatch gave the benediction. Burial was in the Panguitch City Cemetery by Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield, where D. Kern Owen3 offered the dedicatory prayer, Pallbearers were Mike Owens, Mark Henrie, Mark Miller, Melvin Miller, Joseph N. Richards and James Richards. |
