Show ' Escalante Chit Chat Fay Alvey Neta Haycock was taken to Garfield. Memorial Hospital then flown on to Salt Lake City to LDS Hospital where she spent several days in intensive care where her family members gathered to give her moral support. They came home reporting her condition much improved. Phyllis Alvey took her mother; Elda Haws to Salt Lake City for a medical checkup. She also brought her three Christensen grahdkids from Wyoming to visit. Maria Hall got word from Lillian and Ray Shepherd of American Fork that their son, Randal, is hospitalized with pneumonia. Ardie Christensen joined other ladies from the county for a trip to Provo to attend a Farm Bureau Convention. The Relief Society has appointed committees for the annual March homecoming- party which will be held the 20th with a ham dinner at noon followed by a program. Lane and Geraldine Liston went to California taking Starns and Fon Mecham as far as Las-Vegas to visit Ron and family. The Listons visited Sheri and Danny Meisenbach who look them to see Disneyland and other places of interest. Fon Mecham has an appointment with a specialist in Provo for tests. Klyn and Marlene Haws have a new granddaughter born to Robert and Goldie in Wyoming. Wanles and Dena Alvpy spent several days in St. . George working at the temple and visiting friends and relatives. Emma Gates had son Kay from Vernal, daughter Montel Jackson from Las Vegas. Erma accompanied Montel back to Las Vegas for a visit. Fay Alvey met son Jim in Panguitch and went to Mapleton for the weekend and attended the baptismal services of Jim's 2nd son, Justin. Evadean Liston and the Elvon Poulsens came from Salt Lake City and the Steve i Blakeys from Springville. DUP meeting was held Thursday with a fair attendance at their usual meeting place. The lesson was on schools in Utah so Iona Alvey gave an interesting account of her life as a local school teacher, If you don't believe in miracles its likely just as well but park outside a beauty parlor and watch the clientele. For some reason, unknown to them the County DUP officers were saddled with the job of putting on an entertainment and display In honor of the birthday and anniversary of Garfield County, The Centennial. Leah Griffin made several trips to Panguitch to arrange for displays and get help with the project. |
