Show 4-H Girls Taking Cooking Course Cassie Howard, reporter for the 4-H "Eight Chocolate Chips" told the "News" this week that the group of eight-year-old girls is participating in a first year cooking course for their 4-H program. The girls are sponsored by 4-H leaders Elaine (Mrs. Dale) Baldwin and Pam (Mrs. John) Yar-dley. They meet with the girls on a regular basis to help them learn cooking skills. Members of the "Eight Chocolate Chips" are Gaylynn Gardner, president; Tammy Baldwin, vice-president; Stacee Yardley, secretary; Lishell Jackson, songleader; Marni Julander, treasurer; Jennfier Kruse, recreation director; Tammi Henrie, Health and safety director; and Cassie Howard, reporter. The girls held one meeting at the home of Tammy Baldwin where Tammy demonstrated how to make egg salad sandwiches. Another meeting was held at the home of Stacee Yardley where they learned to make milk shakes and pudding. This week's meeting was held again at the Baldwin home with a lesson on baking cookies. Soon they will learn to make biscuits from scratch. Their plans are to make cookies to enter in this year's Garfield County Fair in August. |
