Show Escalante Chit Chat Fay Alvey The sick all seem to be holding their own still some stubborn flu cases. Stan and Neta Haycock went to Salt Lake City to babysit grandsons while Wcodrow's wife, Helen recovers from surgery. Sox and Effie Spencer moved back to Salt Gulch to work for the doctors. Johnny Alvey came home. Michelle will join him later in the Roundy home. Bonnie and Robert Smith went to Cedar City and got their trailer house set up. Robert came home with the Lane Llstons and Bonnie stayed to start her new job at the office of Dr. Rich. Marie Griffin came from Provo and took Mina Porter back for a visit. The John Normans have two new grandsons born a day apart. They belong to Steve and Lana Roberts of Escalante and Debbie and Dave Eiman of Cortez, Colo. The Normans had a visit from Becky and Elton Castleman of Nephi who came in a new Bronco. Thell and Roxy Barney quit their "gypsy life" and have moved back home. Mannly Johnson hitched onto the trailer house of Steve and Kathy Gessig and took it to their property near the Red Rocks. Quinn and Donene Griffin moved into the old John Spencer home owned by EIRay Nixon. The Wayne Banks went to Panguitch to meet the bus and bring Margaret Weiskop here for a visit. She is from Davenport, Iowa and has a colorful history. She accompanied Dicey Coombs to the Fay Alvey home where the Special Interest group met and gave her life history. Clella Woolsey and Clarice Griff in, furnished lunch. Gwen Lyman went to Panguitch for dental work. She took Golda Cottam for company. Clella Woolsey and Joy Reed had business there. Laura Baker had a weekend visit from daughter Laurel and her daughter Julie Lynn from Orem. The Phil Bales family moved into the home vacated by the Quinn Griffins. The Minibus took a group to Richfield for appointments and shopping. Hazel Griffin, who had visited her family members there, came home on the bus. Mary Kazan had major surgery at Sevier Valley Hospital and is doing okay. Ruth Chiono came home to recover. Vera Davis had all of her family home to celebrate her birthday anniversary. Almeda Haycock prepared dinner and served it to 17 family members. The Max Behunins of Boulder picked Twila Mclnelly up and went to Bicknell for the funeral services of their brother, Preston Moosman who died suddenly with a stroke. Claron and Ruby Griffin went to Provo to attend a program presided over by their daughter Pauline Lott who is president of the Utah Business Association. During the program their other daughter, Janet Spencer, was presented a plaque for her outstanding contributions to the education in Utah. Dennis and Pauline Lott were home for the weekend. Stake quarterly conference was held as scheduled with a good attendance and was presided over by Elder Conrad V. Hatch. An open house was held April 15 at the Leland Williams home for their daughter Lori and Clayne Coleman, son of the Don Colemans. They were married Jan. 22. Family members of both sides came for the occasion. The pessimist is depressing and really quite a bore. He'd likely growl about the noise if opportunity knocked at his door. |
