Show Hunter Safety Class Offered All persons interested In earning the certificate of competency in hunter safety should attend the first class of instruction on April 30. Registration will be taken at that time. The course will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the Panguitch High School annex building (intermediate school). A registration fee of $2 is required to defray cost of supplies. Ten hours of instruction are necessary to complete the course. Earl Roe, a veteran Instructor, will teach the class. Hoe has been Interested in youth achievement and welfare for many years. As a result he has worked as a volunteer hunter safety Instructor for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources for nearly 10 years. He is an excellent instructor and his knowledge of firearms, wildlife conservation and the outdoors help him to add a personal touch to the course of instruction. In Utah all first time hunters under age 21 are required to have successfully completed the prescribed course In hunter safety. However, if persons over 21- are interested, they may also enroll for the instruction. Besides firearms handling, wildlife conservation. Utah firearms laws, and hunter ethics are also covered. Several Informative films and a day on the rifle range all help to make the course educational and interesting. Having completed the course, a blue card is issued to the successful student. This card must be presented each time a hunting license is purchased until age 21. |
