Wintch Co., show drawing of plans for recreation community in Gar- Recreation Community Gets Commission Nod By unanimous vote Monday, Garfield County Board of Commissioners approved application for the third development in the county under the provisions of the Industrial Facilities Development Act. The project consists of a 20-acre recreational community located on State Road 12 near the junction of 263 and the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park. It's a joint effort by Dean C. Wintch, Tropic, H. Mark Magleby and John K. M. Olsen, Provo, along with Calvin C. field County. Garfield Commission okajed plans for the deelopment which would be a major boost for economy. Magleby, Howard W. Barnes and Wayne D. Cox. Utilizing a "western village" theme, the recreational facility will be comprised of a 100-room motel complex, 150-unit recreational vehicle complex, restaurant, shopping center and other recreational amenities. Developers plan to design and construct their new project using native materials and ultimately hope to purchase many abandoned old structures to add authenticity to their western theme. |
