Show Two Kscalante residents were seriously injured when this truck in which they were passengers went out of con- ESCALANTE - Shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday, the driver of a 1978 four-wheel drive Ford pickup, apparently lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a U-turn near the Frank Leak subdivision off Alvey Wash. trol and rolled near Kscalante. Both occupants were taken to Garfield Memorial Hospital Pair Injured as Truck Rolls Two males riding in the truck bed, William Spencer and Sam Alvey, Escal&nte were seriously injured when the truck rolled over. Spencer has since been transported to Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City Driver of the accident vehicle, Lori Schuss, Boulder, and two passengers in the cab, Doug Carter, Kscalante and Dean Wilson, Boulder arc all reported in good condition at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Panguitch. The early evening accident was witnessed by several horse trainers at Desert Downs race track who immediately contacted officer Don Mosier. Mosier in turn contacted five EMT's for medical assistance. Mosier, himself a trained EMT, worked alongside the other technicians to stabilize all injured parties prior to their transportation to Garfield Memorial Hospital by ambulance. Interviewed later by the Garfield County News, Mosier stressed the "invaluable help" provided by EMT's -Tookfe Bacon, Tom Jackson, Phil Baylis, Jim Prince and Carl Davis. Mosier also commended bystanders for their cooperative attitude. |
