Show WUh snowshoeing activities on the increase in Bryce Canyon National Park this season, park ranger, Winter Visitors At Bryce Canyon Enjoy Snowshoeing BRYCE CANYON An activity that has been on the increase this past extra wintry season has been snowshoeing at Bryce Canyon National Park. Both rawhide and neoprene type shoes are available at the present time. Some snowshoes have been acquired through inquiry to government surplus sales while the newer neoprene types have purchased outright by the park this season. Employees for the park service maintain the accumulated collection of snowshoes available to park visitors and stress that those participating in this activity avoid wearing snowshoes on asphalt parking areas as this is extremely wearing on the equipment. Possible "minimal fees" may be introduced next season to help defray the cost of replacement and repair of worn shoes and parts. |
