Show H 'aflk iyJalBBBBBBi Clayton Brlnkerhotf. left and Cnrtls Barney proudly smile after they received Eagle Scout, badges during special court of honor Thursday Two boys from the Panguitch North Ward Scout Troop were presented their Eagle awards last Thrusday at a banquet held in their honor. Curtis Larry Barney, and Clayton Warren Brinkerhoff, both have been a great encouragement to each other as they have worked towards this goal. Both boys lack one merit badge in receiving their bronze palm. Curtis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Barney and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ted evening. Each boy lacks one merit badge of receiving their Bronze Palm award In the scouting program. Two Panguitch Boys Win Eagle Scout Badge Award Perkins. His great- grandmothers are Hazel Judd and Vera Perkins, all from Panguitch. He has two brothers and a foster sister. He is active in sports and at the present time he is organist for priesthood meeting. Clayton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kendal W. Brinkerhoff. He has six brothers and two sisters. His grandmothers are Vera Bunker Hoff , Lovell, Wyo. and Mrs. Audrey Hatfield, Payette, Ida. At the present time he is den chief for his mother's cub scout den. He has served in Deacons Quorum presidency for two and one-half years. His service project for the Eagle consisted in organizing a bicentennial cleanup for the community of Panguitch. Both boys feel very appreciative towards Dale Hanberg, their previous scoutmaster now living in Richfield. While Mr. Hanberg was living In Panguitch the boys attended several merit badge Jamborees held in Ephraim, St George and Panguitch. They also took a 65 mile week-long backpacking trip into the high Uintahs. Previous to the banquet a short program was held with Mr. Hanberg as speaker. Also speaking were Jack Voris, district chairman and Bishop Carl Hatch. The boys were presented with the Eagle scout pin, an eagle ring and an eagle tie clasp. Each of the boys expressed thanks and appreciation to all that had helped them achieve their goal especially Mr. Hanberg and their parents. |
