Show Boyd K. Packer To Address Panguitch Stake Conference Elder Boyd K. Packer of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles will preside over Panguitch Utah State conference meetings Saturday and Sunday in Panguitch. According to President R. S. Whlttaker, priesthood leadership meeting will be 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday in the Panguitch South Ward. A stake leadership meeting will be expanded for a 7 to 9 p.m. session for the stake presidency, high council, executive secretary, clerks, Melchlzedek Priesthood quorum presidencies, group leaders, secretaries, bishoprics, ward executive secretaries, clerks, Aaronic Priesthood presidencies and ward directors of the Aaronic Priesthood. The theme of the meeting will be "Making Scriptures Important in Our Lives and in our Church Assignments." The Sunday general session will be held at 10 a.m. in the Panguitch Social Hall. A junior Sunday School will be children three through six years at the Panguitch North Ward. A special invitation is being extended to all of the prosepectlve elders and their families in the take to attend Sunday morning conference. Elder Packer, a member of the Council of the Twelve Apostles, was called to this position in April, 1970, having served as an Assistant to the Twelve since 1961. An educator by profession, his career Includes service as supervisor of Seminaries and Institutes of Religion for the church and as a member of the administrative council of Brigham Young University. He is presently a member of the board of education ot tne Church and the board of trustees of Brigham Young University. He served as president of the New England Mission. Presently he has responsibilty for the priesthood borne teaching, family home evening and military relations programs for the Church. He has been active in community affairs, has served as a city councilman and has been cited by a number of civic and educational organizations. During World War Two he served as a bomber pilot in the Pacific Theater. He received the bachelor of science and master of science degrees from Utah State University and his doctorate in educational administration from Brigham Young University.
