Show This stack of posts were confiscated by Bureau of Land Management officials from the Kanab District Office after they were found along side The Kanab District BLM confiscated approximately SO cedar posts illegally removed from national resource lands last week. According to Larry Sip, area manager for the Vermillion Resource Area, the posts were cut and left along side a road apparently to be picked up at a later time. Mr. Sip also stressed the point that all resources (cedar posts, fire wood, Christmas trees, live plants, etc.) located on national a road, apparently waiting pickup by the thieves. Officers warn on Illegal cutting and taking of posts. Illegally Cut Posts On BLM Lands Confiscated resource lands require a permit for removal. Permits for cedar posts are available at the BLM office in Kanab and Escalante. The cost is twenty cents per post. |
