Rampton Will Ask For Feasibility Study On Bryce Canyon Facilities BHYCE CANYON-A recommendation that tourist lodging facilities inside Bryce Canyon not be closed until a feasibility study is made, was offered by Gov. Calvin Rampton Tuesday after he toured the facilities inside and near the park The governor, accompanied by Mrs. Rampton, said he felt such a study would require at least five years "for an adequate study to be made" and urged TWA Services to continue operations of lodging facilities inside the park until there are adequate facilities outside the park and nearby to handle the tourists. "If there is a closure of facilities in the park they should be gradual, with adequate services outside the park to replace them," the governor told the News. lie said present plans for TWA call for the store, gasoline services and cafe to continue inside the park regardless of the final decision to close overnight accommodations. The governor was told that at the present time, the lodge inside the park has 160 rooms. Facilities presently operating outside the park include Ruby's Inn with 57 rooms; Pink Cliffs Motel with 41 rooms and Hnes Motel with 11 rooms, totaling 109 outside the park. This compares with Springdale, outside Zion National Park, with a total of 115 rooms.
