Show r Area Obituaries Nellie Atkinson Nellie Christine Dickinson Madsen Atkinson, 68, Salt Lake City and formerly of Richfield, died June 11 after an illness. She was born Oct. 3, 1906, Panguitch, to Otis A. and Johanna Nielson Dickinson. She was married to Earl Madsen, Nov. 10, 1924, Richfield; solemnized in the Mantl LDS Temple. He died Aug. 26, 1939. She was married to Dee Atkinson, Dec. 8, 1954. She moved to Salt Lake City from Richfield in 1950. She was active in the LDS Church and was a member of DUP. Survivors: husband; son, daughters, Mrs Lloyd (Delaine) Chappell, Lyman; Mrs. Bryant (Edna) Washburn, Richfield; Mrs. Grant (Ora Dean) Christensen, Salt Lake City; Jay Earl Madsen, Payson; stepsons, Charles D. Atkinson, David Atkinson, both Salt Lake City; 31 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; brothers, sisters, Alonzo, Clark Dickinson, both Richfield; Eldon Dickinson, Moroni; Odell Dickinson, Lakeside, Calif.; Levi Myers, Leo Dickinson, Mrs Burt (lona) Singleton, Mrs. Charles D. (Hope) Stillman. Mrs. Joy Kennedy, all Salt Lake City; Mrs. Deloy (Jane) Jacobson, Clrcleville. Funeral services were Saturday In the Winder 9th Ward chapel, Salt Lake City, with Bishop Chester Bailey, officiating. Lloyd Chappell offered the family prayer and Mack Patton played prelude music. Lester Erickson offered the Invocation. Speakers were James E. Hogle, Bishop Joy Poulson and Pres. Wayne O. Ursenbach. Music Included a vocal duet by Phil and Nina Jorgensen and duet by Lois Richardson and Carol Capps. Clifford Davis offered the benediction. Burial was in the Richfield City Cemetery by Springer Mortuary, Richfield, were graveside services were held. Alan Christensen offered the dedicatory prayer. Pallbearers were Byron Chappell, Craig Washburn, Ronald Christensen, Alan Christensen, Nathan Chappell and Jerry Madsen. |
