Show Henrieville News Items MELBA D SMITH Last week Marion Willis had four friends from Provo visit him. They toured Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks, Zion, Lake Powell, South Rim Grand Canyon, then went to Dead Horse Point, Monticello and back to Provo for the Senior Citizens Dance. They were really impressed with the scenic points around here. Last Tuesday Hode Alvey of Escalante visited his daughter Thelma Smith and family. Several people attended funeral services at Tropic for Ira Mecham last Tuesday. Layton. Melba and Eddie Smith went to Washington. U-tah last Thursday to get JoAnn from her visit with Rett and Christine Shakespear and children. Eddie stayed to visit for a week. Those celebrating birthdays this week are Viola Rose, Steven Goulding, Klin Chynoweth and Ellis Johnson Ralph and La el Chynoweth celebrated their anniversary. Mary Lou Neilson went to St. George last Friday for the wedding of her sister Cheryl Twitch ell and Lonnie Pollock. Several people from here attended the reception at Tropic in the evening. Trie Frank Moore family came home from Salt Lake last Tuesday after his stay at the LDS Hospital. We are glad he was able to come home. They brought grandchildren Jlmmie and Kathy with them, Jimmie will stay at the Moore home and Kathy with the Darreld Neilson family. Kay and Laura Clark went to St. George Saturday to move his parents, Wilford and Ethel Clark to their home at Cannonville after working in the Temple in the winter then they spent the weekend here. On Tusday ladles will start to train at the Sewing Center in the old recreation hall. Bonnie and Jerry Mecham and children visited at the Ro-xle Chynoweth and Frank Moore home last Friday Mr. and Mrs. Sykes of Augusta. Ga. visited the Thorley Johnson family. They know - - - -- - the Johnson's son Harry who is there on a mission. Speakers in Sacrament meeting Sunday were President J. Clyde Spencer and Warren Woolsey, representing the Stake High Council Dan and Millie Chidester and children of Grantsville are visiting her parents, the Dave Roses. Ken and Artoise Piatt of Richfield spent Sunday at the Rose home. Teora Willis, her niece Christine Newby and Zella Willis visited Saturday and Sunday at Monroe and Richfield. Steven Goulding is back to the hospital at Salt Lake for a check up on his back and to attend a special clinic. His wife and son are here at home. Shanna. Nephi and Wayne Goulding have gone to Cedar City while she attends school. Clint Warby, the former Joyce Evans' husband, won a trophy for outstanding male student of the senior graduating class at SUSC. A former friend of Virginia Smith's, Jessie Brisby of St. George called to see Virginia's new home. With her was Jennings Allen. Janet Evans received a phone call from her husband, Guy, who is now at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake, saying he will need to remain there for medication for about three weeks. We all wish Guy a speedy recovery. Rhoda Shafer took her mother Alta Henderson of Cannonville and Thora Partner to Panguitch for the funeral services of J. Frank Houston last Thursday. Conrad and Dorian Johnson visited in Bountiful with their sister Diana and Dave Sterner and family. Conrad went on to Logan to see about school. Thorley and Virginia Johnson took his mother Lovisa Johnson to the Panguitch hospital Sunday with a nose bleed and she had to stay overnight. The Johnsons went for her on Monday. Jan Liston of Escalante was in town Monday taking care of her place. 1 |
