Show County Entries Make Fine Showing At The State Fair - Bring Home Ribbons Garfield County 4-H'ers.xer. ceived many top awards at the Utah State Fair. Representing the 4-H'ers of the county were Madelyn Lindsay and Genlel Houston in Style Dress Review. Geniel placed in the blue a-ward group in this contest. Receiving blue ribbons on their demonstration "Let's Serve A Salad" were Diane Jensen and Mary Susan Foy. Diane rated a blue ribbon in the" public speaking contest also. These four Panguitch 4-H'ers also entered the state home economics judging contest. Out of 169 contestants, Genlel rated a position among the six top judges in the state. Among the 4-H articles sent to the state fair, several came home wearing blue awards. These were: Sharon Bybee, Tropic; Shirley Yardley, Marie Henrie, and Angell Tebbs of Panguitch skirts. Madge Moosman, Boulder; Lynda McAllister and Joyce Houston of Panguitch dress. Kathy Allen, Mary SusanFoy and Diane Jensen of Panguitch wool outfits. Lucinda Alvey and Maureen Munson of Escalante; Jolayne Wilson, Hatch cookies. Shirley Yardley and Debra Taylor, Panguitch banana bread. Mary Susan Foy, Denise Jones and Betty Dutton of Panguitch cheese roll-ups, basic beaten batter puffs and baking powder biscuits. Elizabeth Miller, Panguitch; Arlean Barton and Garna Kaye Haycock of Tropic yeast bread. Nellyn Perkins, Panguitch jelly exhibit. Jeri Lou Heaton, Dorothy Young, Geralyn Veater, and SherrLOrtonof . Panguitch laundry bags and luncheon cloths. Diane Jensen and Ter-ri Kay Heywood of Panguitch record book and bedspread. The volunteer leaders who aided the county 4-H'ers in completing their project work, are to be thanked and congratulated. Garfield County 4-H'ers earned very high ranking in Utah this year due to the combined efforts of members, leaders and parents. |
