Voss. u A llfo for a llfo was tho penalty con- S talncd In the verdict ot tho jury which 1 Friday night found Day guilty ot mur- jt dor in tho llrst degree., Tho verdict was returned at 8:60 o'clock, aftor tho Jury had deliberated four hours over tho enso. Day wan unmoved as ho heard tho vordlct and returned at onco to tho county jail to his cell, with but a single comment on tho result ot tho trial. A deputy, hoping to chcor him, said: "I hoped thoy would uso you bettor. Day." "Well, so did I," responded tho prlb- m oner, "but it doesn't mattor much."
