Show SOUP OX CASK? Garland. Utah, Dec. 7, 1907. Editor Garland Globe: Please give space in your valuable paper for the following: 'To the Public. What has become of the Rhodes' case? Saturday, Nov. 16th, Jack Rhodes and Indian Broom were arrested by Marshal Snook and the case came before Justice Vanfleet Monday rjor. 18, for trial. Rhodes was bound over to the District under $500 bonds and bondsmen were present pre-sent ready to sign the bonds. A sudden sud-den change took place, Rhodes brother bro-ther showed up and requested the Justice to give hlma private Interview. Inter-view. The Justice dismissed the court and granted his request. Immediately Im-mediately after the private consultation, consult-ation, the Justice ordered the Marshal Mar-shal to summon his witnesses for a new trial. After the second hearing the Justice took the case under ad-vluement ad-vluement until ten a. m. Nov. 19th, and on that date decided to hold Rhodes under bonds, but later changed chang-ed his mind and wanted one day of grace to think the matter over. Nov. 20, the justice was unable to come to a decision and the case rested another day. On Nov. 22, Justice Vanfleet allowed al-lowed Rhodes to go on his own recognition. recog-nition. Now the evidence was strong enough en-ough to bind Rhodes over to said court, prior to the private consultation consulta-tion and it certainly appears to me that the almighty dollar had something some-thing to do In this particular case. How much was there In It Mr. Jus-, tlce? I believe the cltlxens of Oarland and the Town Board 'would be justified justifi-ed In requesting said justice to hand in his checks, resign his position and give place for a competent man to fill the vacancy.
