Stohl Brlgham Wright, and Nels Jenton of Brlgham City came to Qarland Mon-1 day night and held a special meeting at the amusement hall. The build lng was crowded to its utmost capacity capa-city and all present were pleased to have the privilege of listening to the able address of Elder Whitney; Prior Pri-or to the opening exercises, Prof. Lew Is Merrelt and Miss Hasel Love of the A. C, made a few remarks encouraging encourag-ing the citlsens of Garland to take part In the Farmers' Institute being held at Tremonton. Bp. W. L. drover presided and the ward choir furnished the singing, ff Stake President Oleen N. Stohl made a few opening remarks, expres-' expres-' sing his pleasure In accompanying El. der Whitney to this city. Klder Whitney in an eloquent and able sermon, discussed the subject of Mormonlsm. The spiritual and temporal tem-poral salvation of mankind. He reviewed re-viewed the work of the church from the appearance of God and His Son Jesus .Christ to the Prophot Joseph Smith up to the present time and dwelt at length on the spiritual salvation sal-vation and exaltation of the human race. Hereafter It la the policy of the presiding authorities of the church to hold special meetings in the various wards of the stakes of Zlon directly after the stake quarterly .conferences and we hope to be favored agal b)J the presence of som of the members of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles. |
