Sherift Fowler received a telephone tele-phone message from Banker Whitmore at Nephi acquainting him of the fact that Larry KincaJins Atkins, the principle prin-ciple man in the gold brick swindle, perpetrated here sometime ago had been arrested in Chicago. Mr. Whitmore Whit-more wanted to know what Utah county would do towards bringing him here. The Sheriff answered he would consult the county attorney and answer him. No further steps were taken in the matter. It is a day of progress here in Utah most decidedly. Every btUe c'l v, town and village from Idaho to Arizona is putting on metropolitan airs of some sort. Nearly every town in Utah county supports a newspaper, have paved sidewalks, elegant public buildings, build-ings, and several are attempting to procure pro-cure electric light plants for the lighting light-ing of their street at night. This latter lat-ter seems to be 1he latest craze all over the territory. Brigham Citv will soon be lighted by electricity. The matter is being pushed with vigor. Provo needs an all-night service. |
