Show B15 Castle Valley Review, April 2009 Maxine Roberts Marian Christopherson Royene Colby WELLINGTON - Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend Maxine Roberts age 66, passed away February 26, 2009 in Miller Creek. She was the oldest of three children born to Clyde and Marie (Olsen) Behunin in Helper, on September 20, 1942. She married Benny Roberts July 19, 1958 in Elko, Nev., they were blessed with four children, as a family they enjoyed camping, fishing spending time as a family and taking family vacations, he passed away March 31, 1992. Maxine was raised in the Carbon County area; she loved oil painting, gardening flowers and vegetables, crafts of all kinds’ ceramics and wood. She enjoyed traveling with Robert, and appreciated his companionship. Maxine was a loving and caring person who always thought of others before her self, the most important thing in her life are her family, children, and grandchildren. She is survived by special companion; Robert Barker of Miller Creek, children; Carolyn (Patrick) Moriarity of Price, Benny Roberts of Elko, NV, Skip (Lynn) Brotherson of West Jordan, Dale Roberts of Elko, NV, sister; Margaret (Fred) Miller of Price and brother; Chuck (Judy) Behunin of Douglas WY, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, five brother-in-laws and nine sister-in-laws. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, inlaws; Snow and Nita Roberts and four brother-in-laws. Funeral services were March 2, 2009 at the Wellington LDS 1st Ward Chapel. Interment was in the Wellington City cemetery. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary. CARBONVILLE - Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Marian Loraine Miller Christopherson, age 78 passed away peacefully March 14, 2009 at Parkdale Care Center while surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 28, 1930 in Salina, Utah to William and Zenna Beach Miller. Married Lynn Alfred Christopherson, October 2, 1948 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lynn died October 1, 2003. Marian loved spending time with and caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, shopping, and gardening. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survived by her children, Loraine (Don) Wisdom, Houston, TX; Jerry L. (Wayne) Nielson, Beaumont, CA; Randy Christopherson, Carbonville, Utah; Teri L. (Dana) Paquette, Arlington, TX; Larry Christopherson, Helper; sisters, Donna Robison, Scipio, UT; Gloria Bjerregaard, Salt Lake City, UT; sister in law, Brenda Wrightsman, Montrose, CO; 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn; and infant son Rocky. The family would like to thank the staff of the Heirloom Inn and Parkdale Care Center for their love and care shown to Mom for the last few years. RIVERTON/WELLINGTON - Royene Colby died on February 26, 2009, in Salt Lake City after a short illness. She was born November 22, 1928, in Salt Lake City to Roy Lee and Naomi Christensen Hartnett. Royene loved being with her sisters and their families, her children and grandchildren. She liked to bowl, read her mystery books, watch her mystery videos. She was always ready and willing to help anyone in need. Royene worked for Carbon Hospital and later Castleview Hospital in the X-ray department. Royene will be dearly missed and leaves behind her 2 daughters and son, Jann (Allen) Guptill, Price; Lona Colby, West Jordan; Stan (Angie) Colby, Riverton; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters, Zola Thompson, Green Valley, CA; Vanice Rice, Salt Lake City; Norrine Callaway, Heber; Bill Hartnett, Florida. Preceded in death by the love of her life and dear husband, Stanley Glen Colby; parents; sisters, Eileen Jensen; Julie Brinton. Funeral service was March 3, 2009, at Mitchell Funeral Home. Interment was in Wellington City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price, where friends are welcome daily. LaVange Mills SPRING GLEN- Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Merry LaVange Mills, age 65, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2009 in Price. The morning sun shined brightly on her face as she was reunited with the loved ones who had passed on before her. LaVange fought a courageous battle with COPD for many years. She was born May 24, 1943 in Salt Lake City to Vergel and Lila Draney. Married Gary W. Mills October 2, 1961 in Ely, Nev. LaVange was the owner of Price Floral for several years and took great pride in her floral creations. She and Gary spent many summers with their children and friends boating in Lake Powell and camping throughout Utah. LaVange was a master gardener who could make anything bloom. She rejoiced every spring watching her tulips and daffodils emerge from the ground. Her utmost delight came from working tirelessly in her yard, grooming it to perfection and sharing “starts” with her family and friends. Survived by her husband of 47 years, Gary Mills; mother, Lila Draney-Busetto; children, Gary (Terri) Mills; Barry (Karon) Mills; Heather Mills; grandchildren, Geoggrey Mills; Daneesha Mills; Alexis Allard; Tonya Mills; Brandon Mills; Joshua Mills; Natasha Olsen; Zachary Garmann; Randi Garmann; great grandchildren, Emiliano; Torizella; Ignacio; Patrick; sisters, Linda (Karl) Kraync; Tawna (John) Magnuson; sister in law, Paula Draney; mother in law, Thusnelda Mills; many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by her father, Vergel Draney; brother, Vergel Draney, Jr.; father in law, Bill Mills; sister in law, Gaylene (Martin) Ballard; special friend, Judy Bruno. Our family is eternally grateful for her unconditional love, guidance, understanding, and compassion shown to us throughout our lives. She will forever be in our hearts. Colleen Curtis ELMO - Colleen Curtis died unexpectedly (of natural causes) on March 1, 2009 in Elmo. Colleen was born March 31, 1956 in Concord, Calif., to Donald Roger and Delores Gnehm Curtis. She moved to Emery County, Utah as a young child and lived there the rest of her life. Colleen loved her children and grandchildren, animals, the outdoors, and music. She was good to remember others and she saw the best in everyone. She had an especially close relationship with her father. Colleen is survived by her three children; Misty (Eli) Jackson of Price, Jason (Amber) Livingston of Elmo, and Robyn (Toby) Jackson of Richfield; seven grandchildren, Abbey Potter, Tayson Jackson, Jaydin Livingston, Shyle Livingston, Beau Jackson, and Brinlee Jackson; brothers, Wesley (Anne) Curtis of Cedar City, Wendell (Nancy) Curtis of Pleasant Grove, Blaine (Kathy) Curtis of SLC; and sister, Marlene (Mervyn) Jones of Wales, UK. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Kyla Potter. Graveside services were March 7, 2009 at the Orangeville City Cemetery. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
