There are currently openings in agriculture, sportsmen, at-large and elected official. All candidates must reside in southeastern Utah. He or she must be sponsored by the special interest group to be represented. For example, if a person wants to represent agriculture, the candidate must obtain written sponsorship from a well-known farm or livestock organization. Finally, the completed nomination form and letter of sponsorship should be mailed or faxed to the address printed on the form. The top nominees will be interviewed with final appointments made by the Department of Natural Resources executive director in consultation with the Director of the Division of Wildlife Resources. A RAC meets about 10 times each year, where they hear presentations about hunting and fishing proposals and make decisions in the form of motions that are forwarded to the Utah Wildlife Board.
