But, every Friday, a group of 7th, 8th, 9th and a few 1 Oth graders .fi 11 Sharon Miya's science class at Diamond Fork Jr. High for after school sessions of Science Olympiad. Science Olympiad is an after-school event that involves, math, science and vocabulary. Science Olympiad has officers, too. Their President is Deven Skaggs, A & B team captains are Dalton Truex and Jake Harding, Secretary is Madison Hall, the Publicist is Danielle Musick, the 9th grade representative is Merrill Warnick, 8th grade representative is Brian Courtesy photo SCIENCE OLYMPIAD: Pictured, front row, left to right, are, Merrill Warnick, Jake Harding, Danielle Musick and Dean Packard; back row, Brian Wood, Tanner Eastman, Deven Skaggs, Heather Linde and Dalton Truex. Wood, the 7th grade representative is Tanner Eastman, and the foods/treats officers are Dean Packard and Heather Linde. All of the officers help the teams ready for competition day. The competition dates are as follows: State Competition, March 28, 2009 and National Competition, May 7, 2009. Riverview Courtesy photo PLEASE JOIN US AT MACEYS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST FOR A SPECIAL EVENT 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. BALLET WEST: A ballet . school, called Ballet West, came to Riverview Elementary to perform. When the dancers came, everyone in the school gathered in the gym to watch. The dancers showed us some dance techniques. Then, they began a performance of "Sleeping Beauty." The music was wonderful as well as the dancers. The students enjoyed the play and hope Ballet West will be able to return again soon. The Leonardo on Wheels - Science Thursday, Oct. 30, The Leonardo on Wheels will be at Diamond Fork Jr. High School from 6-8 p.m. "The program features highly interactive exhibits that support Utah State Office of Education 7-9th grade science and math curriculum standards. All exhibits are designed to foster inquiry and provide students with tools to answer their own questions and understand how science relates to their communities and world." The exhibit includes topics such as sound waves, a wave pool with computer simulation and what every-day objects look like when magnified under a microscope. All are invited to attend. Golf Tournament On Oct. 9, 200fc Diamond Fork Jr. High golf team played in the District Golf Tournament, held at Gladstan Golf Course, in Payson. All six jr. high schools from the district competed in an 18-hole event. Diamond Fork Junior High School walked away with the first place trophy. Dave Madsen took second individually, with an 88, and Hunter Merrill took third individually, with a 92. Other members of the team were Luke Walker, with a 98 and Lewis Mattinson, with a 102. All four scores counted for the winning total of 380. Congratulations Diamond Fork Golf Team! He now has his own tour and will head up a Republican Rally at the Hollywood Bowl which for one night, Octo' ber 30th, will be renamed the Hollywood Toilet Bowl. 2.. He has signed a record deal and will produce his debut album entitled, Pull Up Your Pants and Dance. 3.Joe could be the next Whitehouse plumber and then again, maybe not. 4. In honor of Joe the Plumber Senator McCain and Sarah Palin will wear 24 karat gold plunger pins for the remainder of the campaign. . 5. Joe received a telegram from Fox News saying that his 15 minutes of fame had been extended to a full 30 minutes, the time it takes for the average plumber to make over $100.00. Sorry to say you won't find 15 minutes of fame at Robarge Collision but you can experience their 10 minute car drop off service which is on it's way to becoming famous.
