NHS used their own funds to provide Christmas gifts for two. needy families in the community. Members of NHS went shopping after school for the gifts. They worked together to decide on clothes, books, and toys to buy for children. The gifts ranged from shoes to Barbie dolls. The gifts were delivered to the families' houses just in time for Christmas. NHS presidentWhitney Dixon said, 'This is one of our favorite service projects. The elementary students prepared a letter and a wish list for Santa which was secretly sent to the college writing classes as a substitute for Santa. Questions about Christmas were answered, stories from the children were read, and smiles will soon be put on the kids* faces when they read what "Santa" has sent them back. Mckell Miner said, "It was a very fun and enjoyable way tp get children to keep believing in Santa, and it was also a great way to set the mood for the Christmas holidays. (9/12-TFN) Landmark High School (LHS) in Spanish Fork held their annual clothing drive for the needy, during the month of December. The students brought and donated somewhere close to two hundred pounds of clothing. Patrick Hogle, teacher and student council advisor, was very pleased with the effort of the students that donated clothing to those in need. He said, "It was amazing what the students can do when they are challenged to do something. Many of them felt greatly rewarded to see clothes go to a great cause. During the month the students of Landmark have focused on doing random acts of kindness. An alumnus of LHS was just recently diagnosed with Leukemia cancer. The younger brother of this alumnus diagnosed with Leukemia . is currently attending LHS and was pleased to hear that the student body was holding a fundraiser to help cover the medical cost of his brother's treatments. The student body this month has raised over $100 to help pay for his treatments. Jordan Brough helps pets Shala Richards SFHS Family Pet Hospital's intern is Jordan Brough.
