Show Thousands of Scouts and their leaders head for camp activities following the official opening of Scout-O-Ram- a, 1969. Formula For Success: Boypower, Manpower By STEPHEN W. GIBSON Church News Staff Writer FARMINGTON, UTAH Boy power combined with manpower was the formula for success at the annual Great Salt held here May 24. Most of the 1,300 posts, troops and packs which participated built displays to show off their unit specialities. These displays which attracted an estimated 40,000 adults included rope making, rocket and conlaunching, tower construction, first-aiservation ideas. ' The Scouts cooked their own meals duiing the event One Scoutmaster commented, "The boys are always ready to eat, but not so ready to wash their utensils afterwards." Cub Scouts also showed off their skills. A huge complex of day camps were set up Saturday morning, then the Cubs participated in two four-rin- g circuses which lasted for four and a half hours.
