June 2: National Trails Day. Fun Run on the Eden and Pineveiw West Trails (approximately 5K). Meet at Snowcrest Jr. at 7:30 a.m. to register. Also at 9:00 a.m., dedication of the Eden Trail at Snowcrest Jr. The event will include a ribbon-cutting, prizes for the runners, and a continental breakfast. For more information call 3932304. June 2: We will be making candles at the Markle's home (garage!) in Huntsville at 7284 East 200 South (just kittycornered from the Town Hall.) There will be an instructor to teach us how to make candles. We are inviting any girls ages 10-18 to attend. The candles will be sold and all proceeds go to the Cancer Wellness House, a nonprofit organization. The House offers hope, learning and friendship for anyone whose life has been affected by cancer. Meet at Dee Events Center At 9:00 a.m. – 4600 S –one block east of Harrison Blvd – We will carpool to work site. Long pants and closed toed shoes required. Leather boots preferred. Hard hat, gloves, trail tools, provided by Ogden Ranger District, Forest Service. June 8 – 17: Come visit the Ogden Valley’s Parade Home in the Huntsville Meadows Subdivision. Tickets are $7 and are sold on location and also at Smith’s stores and Bowman’s Market. June 8: Visit the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden. Opening on June 8th in the main gallery will be the works of husband and wife artist Amy Adams, dolls and Drex Brooks, photography. Featured in the Carriage House Gallery will be the pastel drawing of Kay Taylor Affleck. An opening reception is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday June 8th. The exhibits continue through June 30th. Regular gallery hours: weekdays 9-5, Saturdays, 9-3. Closed major holidays, and Sundays.
