Show Page The Ogden Valley news Volume XV Issue II January 1, 2008 Announcements Weddings Smith-Eyre Brianne and Timothy Eyre Brianne Smith and Timothy Eyre were united in marriage on December 18 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A reception was held in their honor at the Liberty 1st Ward. The bride is the daughter of Karen and Lin Smith of Liberty. She graduated from Weber High School and is attending school at Dixie University. Parents of the bridegroom are Marty and Von Eyre of St. George, Utah. He graduated from Dixie High School and served in the Indianapolis Indiana LDS Mission. The new couple will live in Idaho after their honeymoon to Park City, Utah. Birthdays Blaine and Marian Johnson Blaine and Marian Johnson On October 24, 2007, Marian Elizabeth Johnson turned 80 years old. Her husband Charles Blaine Johnson turned 80 on August 13, 2007. Blaine and Marian of Eden were honored at an open house in North Ogden on Saturday, December 8 for three milestones in their life. This year, not only did they both turn 80, but they also celebrated 60 years of marriage together. Blaine also retired after 50 years of service with New York Life Insurance Company. The Johnsons were married May 9, 1947 in Brigham City, Utah. Their vows were solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 9, 1955. They have resided in Ogden, Roy, and Eden, Utah. He has been an agent with New York Life Insurance Company. He served as President of the Ogden and the State of Utah Underwriter Associations. He also was President of the Ogden CLU Association. He earned his CLU degree in 1966, the Chartered Financial Consultant degree in 1982, and the Life Underwriter and Training Council Fellow degree in 1985. Both have been active in their church and community. Among his church callings, he served on the High Council, as 1st Counselor in the bishopric, Assistant Membership Clerk, and Elder’s Quorum President. He is currently serving as Executive Secretary in the Wolf Creek Ward. She has been Primary President, and Young Women’s Counselor and President. She has served in the Relief Society as President, Counselor, and Teacher. She is now the Ward Historian. They served two missions together: one at Temple Square in Salt Lake City and one at the Ogden Family History Center. In their travels they have been to Israel, Bermuda, Alaska, and Hawaii. They have enjoyed camping trips with their family. Their children and their spouses are Randy and Vicki Johnson of South Weber, Roy and Sheryl Gibson of Roy, and Jeff and Lisa Johnson of Pleasant View.
