The 11h Annual Ogden Valley Balloon Festival will kick off a week earlier than last year, in hopes that it will be more convenient for families with school-aged children, and to take advantage of the Harvest Moon. This much-anticipated, fun-filled event will be held at the same spot as last year at Wolf Creek Resort and proceeds will benefit Ogden Valley Pathways. This year, however, shuttle buses will transport attendees from a central parking area near the 4-way stop in Eden to the festival site, which should greatly improve traffic conditions. Up to 40 balloons are expected to participate, with launches scheduled at approximately 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Since hot air balloons can only fly in calm weather, all launches will be dependent on weather conditions. The launches are very spectacular with the beautiful Ogden Valley as the backdrop. Patrons are advised to arrive early, wear layers of clothing for the chilly morning, and bring cameras for some great photo shots! Balloon rides will be available for purchase with tethered balloons offering rides at various times throughout the day.
