The conclusion of the seventies found Glenda Staples and Nancy Leavitt representing us as Miss Summit Flower-pow- er of age and we grooved County. The eighties caught women striving for excellence in both mind and body as the Fiashdance revolution so colorfully overtook our lives. Such young women ss Tree Brown, Shelley Daines, Heather Ford, Janiene Tatton, Laura Baker, Cheryl Perry, Marilyn Jepson, Kristen Swenson, KaraLee Page, and Carne Mullen captured the vision and spirit of the decade, each as Miss Summit County. The nineties began a Celebration as a potpourri of styles, music, and aura of anything goes" became acceptable. The thing that was in style in Summit County was an array of beautifully talented, intelligent, quick thinking young women taking charge on the pedestal as Miss Summit County.
