They are responsible for planning activities and giving student input on school UBATC invites public to open house & tour The Uintah Basin Applied Technology is holding an open house on Wednesday, October 2 9 from p.m. All public, parents, and students of the UBATC are invited to tour the facility. The evening will also serve a dual, purpose as Parent Teacher Conferences for high school students, for parents to sec First hand what their youth are learning and their status in their programs. UBATC offers more than 18 training programs that prepare students to use the latest equipment and technology and will help a student to succeed in todays high-tec- h industries. A few of the new programs being offered this year are Medical Assisting, Multimedia, Building Trades, and CertiTied Network Administration. There are many other programs offered at the UBATC such as Auto 'Mechanics, Welding, Flexible Machinery, CAD Drafting, Allied Health Programs, and Business Programs. UBATC also offers many seminars and workshops that Area Chamber of Commerce Chairperson Becky Job and Principal Ed Johnson al present certificates of achievement to West Middle School students. ACHIEVEMENT-Vern- 5-- West Middle School, and Loyal Summers, principal at Todd school discussed Elementary, with members. Certificates for outstanding achievement were awarded to students chosen by their teachers for their exceptional effort and attitude towards learning. It features five interviews along with school and community events with students as anchor persons. It is broadcast every Monday morning over the school television system. upgrade an individuals occupational skills. Students and employers know that the skills acquired at UBATC today can easily be pul to use on the .job tomorrow and that it provides high quality, short term, intensive training. Seniors were given the opportunity to talk with representatives from schools across Utah. Hopefully were not all lost causes a vmoie on what to do after graduation. Also keep in touch with the schoolschools youre interested in and seek further information on enrollment and scholarships throughout the year. Seniors can also seek help in the counseling office if interested in attending a college, trade school, technical school, etc. out of state. Just to let you know our golf team is tied for 2nd place with Uintah while heading to their next match in Park City (hope that two inches of snow doesn't throw your putter off). Congratulations to Alicia Uresk, Bev Richens, and Kim Kettle, who recently took first place in a three on three basketball tournament. Way to be practicing and preparing early for the season girls.
