The junior varsity game was a super good game according to Coach Jeff Alexander. The Lady Cougars led all the way, ' with the final score Coach Alexander said that all the girls on the squad played and scored. Beverly Mortensen led the Lady Cougars with 22 points. Unfortunately, the Lady Cougu varsity squad did not fare as well in their game with Morgan. Although they played their best game of the year, according to Coach Alexander, Morgan outplayed us and won the game on the foul line. Union shot only eight shots from the foul line compared to 34 for Morgan. Final score in the game waa Union 38, Morgan 47. Lori Powell scored 9 points to lead the Lady Cougars and Sue Ashton waa cited by Coach Alexander for bringing down 10 rebounds. played at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. The seniors on the squad will be honored prior to the 6 p.m. game. Seven teams including Tridell, Roosevelt 5th Ward, Roosevelt 6th Ward, Roosevelt 7th Ward, Roosevelt 8th Ward, Myton, and Roosevelt 2nd Ward participated in the tournament Basketballs were awarded to the first and second place teams. The prizes were presented by the Roosevelt District Boy Scouts of America committee. Winners in the tourney were Myton, first place; Roosevelt 8th Ward, second place; and Roosevelt 7th Ward, Vanity Scout third place.
