CONFESSION Saturday 4 to 5 p.m. Or Upon Request Old Testament reading was Leviticus 5:14, 6:7. The New Testament reading was Romans 3:21-3Pastor Forsyths sermon was entitled Sacrifice is a Way of Life. He asked the question, How do I establish a right relationship with God? All have sinned and come short of the glory of God, but God, by His pace, granted to us a free gift-- we are justified in Christ Jesus. We are reckoned righteous, we are not made pronounced righteous, righteous. This is God's miraculous grace. There is nothing we have done to merit it or to win it. Our faith doesnt make us righteoua--it is our response to God's grace. We are justified in Christ Jesus, not in ourselves. In the Old Testament blood sacrifice was the only way to receive forgiveness from sin and it was an imperfect sacrifice and had to be repeated over and over. In the New Testament Christ is the perfect sacrifice because it is His life blood ransoms us from the consequences of sin. Christ's life was a sacrificial offering poured out unto death. As individuals, we must decide if we want to accept this gift or try to use good works and feeble faith. Next week' sermon will discuss justification-bei- ng free from death.
