Jog Jazz instructors are all volunteer individuals who have graduated from student status to become effective teachers with classes of their own. Most classes are taught at local churches and public library facilities, Instructor workshops, conducted by Louann Stogdill and staff, are offered oq a monthly basis to provide new routines, leaching techniques, up-t- o date fitness information, and further training in the Jog Jazz program, These workshops are available to persons interested in organizing and developing a physical fitness program of aerobics in their neighborhood, or school. Each class consists of stretchout, work up, aerobics and cool down periods. A wide variety of music is used during the entire class. Along with Salt Lake area classes, Jog Jazz classes are also to be found in Logan, Richmond, Herriman, Farming-ton- , and Park City. There are also classes being taught in parts of Montana, California, Alabama and Idaho. There is even one class being taught in Israel! And 200,000 of them died before retirement age, according to Mrs. Lora Hansen, Duchesne County chairman of this year's Heart Associag tion campaign. "This number of deaths is especially significant because it affects men and women between the ages of 35 and 64, the age bracket of industry's most productive work force," Mrs. Hanson said. The American Heart Association wants to take heart attack and stroke out of the workplace from offices and executive suites, factories and assem fund-raisin- bly lines. February has been proclaimed American Heart Month and the Duchesne County area volunteers join the nationwide fund raising effort. Area businesses will be asked to make a contribution in support of continuing research, public education and community service programs of the Utah Heart Association. These contributions will help in the mission of reducing early death and disabi'ily from heart disease and stroke.
