Show 19, 1981 lT in t Thursday, February DUCHESNE CITY COUNCIL A regularly scheduled meeting of the Duchesne City Council was held Feb. 3 in the Duchesne courtroom beginning at 7 p.m. Mayor Ed Browning presided at the meeting and Connie Mullins recorded the minutes. Council members present city-count- y were Keith Hooper, Susana Doty, Kim Hamlin and Dennis Ercanbrack. Rex Harrison Mr. Harrison was not present. The mayor relayed a message from Harrison that LaMar Stevenson Construction would install all 14 fire hydrants at $650 a head for a total of $9,100. A motion was made by Kim Hamlin and seconded by Dennis Ercanbrack, to accept this bid. Motion carried. Mountain BeD hearing There will be a hearing on Feb. 11 by Mountain Bell Telephone Company by Touna Soreasen Last Thursday, our girls traveled to Duchesne. They then hosted South Summit Friday night. The girls won both nights. They will be going to South Summit this weekend, Feb. 20 and 21 to play in the Region Tournament. The boys went to Tabiona Friday night and they also won. Their next game will be tomorrow night, Feb. 20, with Duchesne. Softball league Scott Maughn, Rick and Dawnette Browning, Alice Thompson and Joy Robbins met with the council to discuss the problems and solutions of the softball league in Duchesne. A motion was made and carried for the mayor to be organizer of the softball program. Ball diamond upkeep Motion made by Dennis Ercanbrack. seconded by Kim Hamlin and sustained, that the city hire a part employee for the purpose of taking rare of the ball diamonds, with the pay to come from the contribution made by the softball leagues.
