His budget did not reflect the shortfall. It was decided to eut $34,800 from the director's budget in order to make room for the shortfall and to allow for a building fund. The biggest cut, $23,000 eliminated a request for two additional trucks and two additional pesticide loggers. Board Chairman Cal Monks indicated that the taxpayers could not be expected to see their mill levy increased to reflect a large budget increase in addition to the shortfall. Since the shortfall has to be made up, it was decided to cut the trucks from the budget. Helco has already begun operations under an interim agreement with the Roosevelt City Council, pending execution of the formal contracts. Under the terms of the contract, Flightair will operate the Roosevelt period, providairport for a ing all services normally associated with fixed base operation.
