D d not the wa ter henry ward beecher was amused w when hen he went into a bowery rant on one occasion and heard the waiter give such orders to the cook as ham and sinkers and cow etc watch me that waiter with an order which I 1 believe he won wont t abbreviate remarked beecher at length as the waiter ap pro preached ached then ho he said give us poached eggs on toast for two with the yolks broken but the waiter who was equal to the emergency walked to the end ol 01 the room and yelled adam and eve on a raft wreck em it is related that dr beecher nearly tainted fainted
