Ketcham, Ph.D. Prince, Langheinrich & Greer Last week, the oil stocks, which had been strong, were bonded. Under an agreement between Tesoro and its lending banks. Tesoros dividend payments are limited to the excess of the companys annual cash flow over $57 million. These conditions were met for the current quarter dividends, but may not be for future quarters. Due to the large drop in Tesoro common, the Jan. 10 calls at have some speculations appeal. However, I believe the best speculation is the purchase of the Tesoro 2.16 cumulative convertible preferred. The preferred is now undervalued relative to the common. Covered calls may also be written against this preferred. 1-- 38 |
