Show The Utah Enterprise Review , January 79, 1977 Page 9b Sidewalk Renovation Planned in Stages Renovation of the sidewalks along Broadway between Main and State Streets will take place in three stages, according to Niels Valentiner, architect for the project. At a meeting with representatives from Keith Warshaw & Co., Copper Rivet, Harver Parking, The Yardstick, Chesters Drawers and Auerbachs, Valentiner said the project could proceed according to their budgets and desires. The First stage would be sidewalk renovation; the second could include street furniture; and the third, planting. No major sewer or water line improvement is necessary, Valentiner told the group, although a solution to a drainage problem would have to be incorporated into the design. An effort to save existing sidewalk that is adequate would be made, he said, and a new sidewalk design would also be coordinated with those along Main and First South. Merchants along State Street are scheduled to meet with the architect this week.
