Tin) by Ferguson Director ofMarketing, Salt Lake International Center International Trade Fairs Many countries sponsor international trade fairs or shows in which U.S. goods may be exhibited. The U.S. Department of Commerce may reserve a U.S. pavillion and with the assistance of state development agencies, American firms are recruited for participation. These events may be vertical, that is exhibiting only one product line (for example, construction equipment) or horizontal, with no product line limitations. The cost for participation in these shows varies according to the sponsoring country. Many fairs are open to the business sector, as well as to the general public, giving additional explosure to the product. Also, visitors to the fairs are often from other countries and can promote the product upon return to their homelands. For more information concerning the location of these trade fairs, interested persons may contact the local U.S. Department of Commerce office or drop a line to me in care of this newspaper.
