They relumed home a week ago Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Aycock attended Mr. Aycock's class reunion for the class of '63 at Union high last Saturday in Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hillyard will be moving to Roosevelt next weekend. Mr. Hillyard is employed by First Security Bank and was transferred to the Roosevelt Branch about six months ago. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Cranney had Dr. W. Doyle Cranney and one of his medical students visit them Sunday. Dr. Cranney is Steve's father. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Harper and family returned Friday evening from a four DUCHESNE Kira. Kav Stratton Mrs. Freda Hadden wishes to express her sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone for the cards, letter, phone calls, visits and gifts she received while being hospitalized. She looks forward to coming home soon but the doctors have warned her she must be very careful and espcially to avoid large groups of people to avoid any contact with illness, s Mrs. Joan Foy returned a week ago Tuesday from a European tour with her mother and two sisters and an aunt. They traveled with a Seminary Institute tour of about one hundred and forty people. They first flew to Rome, Italy, took in Switzerland and visited Joan's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Van Tassel and family who is stationed in the Army in Germany. From Germany they went to Paris and London and then flew home. They were also able to take in a session at both the London and Swiss Temples. Joan's Mother, Mrs. Glen Van Tassell is from Bountiful as is also her sister, Miss Joyce Van Tassell and her sister Mrs. Kay Wack is from San Jose, Calif. If$ Our . . . 738-532- 8 Mr. and Mrs. Don Lee, Lander, Wyo., visited with Mr. and Mrs. Parry Grant for a few days a week ago. Mr. Lee is a nephew of Mr. Grant's. Last Saturday the Grants were visited by their niece the former Lula Jean Holfeltz, now Mrs. Ray Thomas of Orem and four of Mrs. Thomas eight children. They were certainly thrilled with her visit since they hadn't see her in about twenty five years. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gee were among a party of ten who camped at Moon Lake to fish from July 19 to 25. Those who camped were Mr. and Mrs. L. Patra Walker and son Jerry. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Elder and daughter Jimmie and Kelly and Sandra Elder from Midvale, o Mrs. Evelyn Murdock reports that her husband who had been hospitalized for surgery at the Veteran's Hospital in Salt Lake fell from his bed Thursday July 26, and cracked his hip. She expects he will be hospitalized for several weeks now and they won't be able to perform surgery until his hip has healed. He is in Building 1 Ward D1 if any of his friends would like to visit or send cards. Mrs. Murdock expects to spend a few days a week in Salt Lake to be near her hus- band. On Saturday the Duchesne first and second wards Young Marrieds group rode rubber rafts down the Green River to Little Hole, where they ate dinner. There was a group of 10 people from First ward and thirty seven from second ward and all had a tremendous time. Policy... Duchesne first ward Primary program was presented by the children last Thursday evening. Eleven children received a special gift in recognition of their 100 attendance at Primary for the 1972-7year. They were the five Pea-tros- s sons, Lee, Timmy, Justin, Jeff and Chris, Anne and Ronnie Stratton, Mecham, Craig Bailey, Michael Ar- gyle and Marilyn Merkley, were presented with certificates for 90 attendance or above. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Turner have had visiting with them since Saturday, Mrs. Barbara Diggins of ElMonte, Calif. Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Diggins are long time friends who have't visited with one another for thirteen years. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Moon were visited Saturday by Mr. and Mrs. Don Yates and family from Mona. The Yates are the parents of Mrs. Moon and came out to see their new baby. Last week it was mentioned that Clinton and Daw-nett- e were calling their new baby Quinton but have since decided to call him Conally Clinton. The Moons brought their new one home from the hospital Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Moon and three of their daughters, Louise, Joyce and Judy returned home Monday from their vacation. They traveled up through Wyoming, Montana, Canada and while-iCanada they attended church in Cardston and saw the temple. They also visited Vancouver, LeGrand, Ore., and visited Mr. and Mrs. Rowan Stutz, former residents of Duchesne in Portland. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Riley in Rex-burIda., and Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Williams, Rupert, Ida., also former residents of Duchesne. They also visited with several of Mr. Moon's missionary companions. Mr. and Mrs. Don Bench had visiting with them, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Zingler from Mason Lake, Wash., for one week. Then the Bench's drove back to Washington with the Zinglcrs and only returned home Monday afternoon after being gone better than a week. They visited Yellowstone Park, Mont., Mason Lake and Spokane, Wash., and then went onto Longview, Wash., to visit their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Barney and daughters returned last week from their vacation to the Rocky Mountain National Parks in Colorado. They visited some of the old mining towns as well as other historical points of interest. Guest at the home of Mrs. Everett Harrison this week are Mrs. Ray Roberts, Lehi and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Curtis and daughter. Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis recently moved to Bountiful from Lancaster, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Oldroyd left the forepart of the week to make their home in St. George. The Oldroyds have made their home in Roosevelt for the past thirty years, where Mr. Oldroyd was the butcher at Safeway Store until he retired recently. Mrs. Carl Jensen and daughter, Heidi, Denver, is visiting at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrell Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Clem Labrum and Lynn Wayne visited in Salt Lake over July 24 holidays. They were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Cook, Santa Monica, Calif., for a family gathering. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Brown and family, Memphis, Tenn., visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Brown this week. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Yack spent the weekend in Salt Lake where they attended the governor's Advisory Council. Mrs. Carl Thompson, Orem, visited during the week with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray SummarelL Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Harris and family recently returned home from a vacation in California where they visited Disneyland and other points of interest. In Las Vegas they visited with friends. Enroule home they stopped in Columbia with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Hams and Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Elliott. Mrs. Harris' sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Green had recently returned home after spending five years in England. Mrs. Gale Anderson and children, Salt take, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Squire. Mrs. Anderson returned home Sunday but the children will visit with their grandparents for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Elwyn Bascom left Aug. 2 for Phoenix where they will witness the marriage of their son Dale and Miss Cherie Human in the Mesa Temple Aug. 4. They will be accompanied by Gordon Bascom and two sons. East Layton. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas While and Micheal, Moab, spent two weeks visiting with Mrs. White's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Yack. Mrs. Ethyl Taylor, Rangely recently visited with her mother, Mrs. Milt Nickell and other relatives. Mrs. Nettie Jensen returned home July 25 after spending about three weeks in Hesperia, Calif., with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jensen brought her home and they are visiting in Roosevelt. Dr. L. G. Benson, Salt take, and Kenneth Benson, Orem, spent July 24, visiting with their mother, Mrs. Marie Benson and brothers and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Benson. Mrs. Lawrell Jensen recently accompanied her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. George Mathews, Grantsville, to Manti where they visited with their brother, Ray Cox and family. They attended the Mormon Miracle pageant. They also went to Cedar City where they saw the Shakespearan play "Much ado about nothing". She returned home July 23. Mr. and Mrs. Lavar Chisnut, Orem, visited with Mrs. Zelma Lloyd last week. Mr. Chisnut is Mrs. Lloyd's nephew. Wanless Shields was in Salt take, this past week, to attend the wedding of Gregory Owen and Jeanne Durrani. Gregory is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Owen, former Basin residents. week vacation bark in North Carolina and Virginia. They visited Mrs. Harper's parents and family in No. Carolina a family that Mr. Harper knew while in the mission field in both Carolina and Virginia. On their way home they visited all the historical points in LDS Church history, just to name a few places, they visited Hyrum, Ohio, Nauvoo, Caritage and Liberty. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Moon and their four children moved into their new home this week. Word was received of the birth of a new grandson to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Green of Duchesne. The new lad to be named Jonathan was born July 30 at St. Mark's hospital in Salt take to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Green. Aunt and uncle are Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Green of Roosevelt. He will be welcomed home by a brother, Christopher. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Johnson, Las are visiting with Mrs. Thelma Barlow, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilkins and Mr. and Mrs. Marrell Wilkins. There was other relatives that joined them , making fourty two in all e Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ottosen went to Provo July 27 where they witnessed the wedding of Lynn Burton and Cheryl Christensen in the Provo Temple. After the marriage they attended the wedding breakfast at Holiday Inn. Mrs. Ina Mecham and daughter Mrs. Jean Squires and two children, Glendale, Ari.., were weekend guests ul the retd dence of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ottosen. Mrs. Mecham is Mrs. Oltosen's sister. Among the many relat ivex and friends who attended the reception for Mr. and Mrs. Ray J. They visited with his sisters and families, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Swenson and Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Miller. Tim who has been visiting out there, returned home with them. Mr. and Mrs. John Jakohack who have been living in Roosevelt for the last year have moved to Provo where they will make their home. July 23. Mr. and Mrs. Maurel Taykir went to Salt Lake to meet their daughter on her return from a three week tour of Europe with the Kearns high school band. Marlene also marrhed with the band in the Days of 47 parade July 24. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Simpson, Ponca, City, Okla., visited with Mrs. Marie Benson, Saturday, July 28. Mrs. Simpson was the former Renee Russell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Russell who use to live in Ioka. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd tabrum and Clark, Mr. and Mrs. McNeil Duncan and daughters, Mrs. Richard Brough and daughters, Mrs. Charlene Oberhansly and Julie and Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Kriss-maattended the Baslian family reunion held at the Murray City Park July 29. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Baldwin, Logan, and Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Snow and daughter Phoenix, are visiting at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Theo Perkins this week.
