Celebrity will host pageant Jackie Nokes, hostess of KSL-TV- s Midday" which presents a program especially designed for women, featuring special guests, timely discussions, fashions, figure trimming exercises and household hints, will be emcee for the Duchesne County queen pageant, to be held August 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the Duchesne high school. The educational Program included a film presentation and talk by highway patrolmen, Les Langford and Spence Redmond, followed by each participant riding an obstacle course and having their bikes inspected. The premium book and program for "the fair is now off the press and available to county residents. An invitation is extended to county residents to obtain a premium book and check the rule changes in the various categories, and plan to enter items in the annual event. Each year has seen added interest in exhibits, and fair officials are planning for even greater participation this year. week-lon- g According to the schedule published in the premium book, the full day of ac- - Bicycle class 4-- H livities Monday will endude the entry of all exhibits, plus the entry of all home exhibits arts (adult). This will allow additional time for displaying and arranging of items for judging Tuesday. Monday will also see speaking contest, meal contests, preparation, demonstration home economic judging and special demonstrations, running from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday is scheduled as judging day. All 4 H exhibits will be judged, plus judging of ail home arts exhibits. None of the exhibits will be open to the public during the judging. Wednesday will see a continuation of 4 H and home arts judging, plus the entry of livestock for the fair. It will also be the day for entry of exhibits in the fine arts displays. During the afternoon Wedneshorse show will be held, and day, the tagging and official weighing of livestock fur the junior sale will be completed. One of the features of Wednesday's activities will be the staging of the Miss Duchesne County contest in the high school gymnasium at 7:30 p.m. The pageant will be emceed by Miss Jackie Nokes of TV fame. Thursday's activities will include the receiving and tagging of the balance of the show livestock, entry and judging of flowers and vegetable items, and the Titling and showmanship contests by members. The evening will be highlighted by the style dress revue. The schedule Friday includes a full day of major events. The open horse show will begin at 8 a.m. The junior livestock sale is set for 11 a.m. A parade will be held in the evening, plus a barbecue and rodeo completing the day. Saturday's feature is the AQHA horse show throughout the day. Again the parade will be held in the evening, with a rerun of the barbecue and rodeo. Caldwell says he "hopes to spend fifty per cent of my time in class mostly with new teachers, orienting them to the philosophy of the district." Educated in Uintah county schools, Caldwell was also granted a B. S. in physical education from Brigham Young University in 1958. In 1970 he was awarded his Master of Education degree in educational administration. He has also done graduate work on a six yeSr specialist degree -- t the University of Utah and Utah State University. In the educational teaching field he has taught school and coached football and wrestling at Parowan high school in Iron County Utah. He was principal at Duchesne high school for three years prior to assuming his present position. Active in scouting for many years Caldwell is currently the Bishop of the Duchesne Second Ward of the Church of Saints. A former high school principal at Duchesne, Caldwell will primarily be concerned with secondary school supervision, the obtaining of federal grants for e 4-- 12-I- n.
