The at 2803 W. 1600 N., owned by Don and Jeanette Craythorn, suffered foundation damage and stands empty today. The appearance of the sinkages is being blamed by some residents on an underground drainage pipe that runs through 11 backyards. Other residents say an under- ground spring or irrigation ditch that runs near the property is causing the damage. Possible solutions will be proposed in the study, which should take six to seven weeks to complete. Five test holes will be drilled in the yards of homes owned by Don and Jeanette Craythorn; Paul and Julie Gibby; Rose Nicholas and Deanna Rowe. The city will pay $1,500 toward the cost of the study and the residents living in that area vyill divide the remaining cost among themselves. Smith said the city can enter in Co-bi- a; to a contract with the residents in which they can make payments to the city, rather than pay a lump sum for the study. We can enter into a contract with them to help defray the costs, he said. He said he discussed the matter with Mike Lyon, city attorney. The city is working in every way possible to assist these people. Its been good to work with them. Its a pleasure when we can work as a team, rather than one against the other.
