It was National Soil Stewardship Week and the Millard County Soil Conservation District sponsored a poster contest for the sixth grade On May 4 Virge Christensen a SCD Board member went to school and presented awards to the students Every poster received a blue ribbon honorable mention went to Tim Peterson Carol Hatton Alexis Packham April Frampton Franky Freeman Saronna Purcell Peter White Amalia Mancenas Silvia Mendoza and Chad Strong Pictured are the top winners - Cole Cooper tied with Jason Curley (not pictured) for fourth place Arlee Ann Dastrup won third place Monica Searlc took second and Mamie Christensen won first The top five were cash prizes and every sixth grade student received a pencil from the SCD They all did a fantastic job!
