But to think it was a hard place to play for the Lady Rebels is quite questionable. Colorado stormed over Dixie Northwestern Community College in the first half of Friday night's game, holding them to only 10 points. But CNCC came back to attack in the second half, as they exploded 42 points on Dixie's defense. Even though CNCC shot 40 percent from the floor in the second half, they only shot 29 percent from the floor the entire night. While Dixie shot 40 percent from their home court. "We played one half of good basketball," Head Coach Dave LaVetter commented. "We held them to 10 points in the first half, and we lost concentration and focus in the second half." Brittany McGee who shared high honors with teammate Janelle Romney, scored 10 of her 12 points before half-timThe Rebels struggled and CNCC got as close as nine points, but Dixie took charge and finished strong in the last few minutes of the game. Romney proved her strength underneath the basket as she came out with an astonishing four blocks, three steals, and 12 points. Adrienne Sigford who moved into the starting line up, went two for five from downtown and ended with 11. Rori Roberson came in off the bench and added her two cents in at nine points, Caroline Heaton followed at six and nine rebounds. "Roberson played extremely well for us. She had some key rebounds and shots e. said. "McGee and Sigford played well also." Saturday night the Golden Eagles from the College of Eastern Utah came to town and hit Dixie with a surprise attack. But Dixie wouldn't let a repeat night happen as they came away with the victory 71-6- 4. Romney led the Lady Rebels with 18 points, eight rebounds ,and two blocks. "CEU did a good job clogging up the middle, taking shot attempts away from tire posts," LaVetter said. The Lady Rebels did an outstanding job at the charity stripe, as they shot 80 percent from the line. They went 2 in 3 in the second half, the first half and most of the shots coming from Romney, who went six for nine from the line. Even though the Rebels won, it was still a tough game as CEU played much better at Burn's Arena, than they did back home LaVetter mentioned. Tricia Jones went four for seven from three point range, having 12 points on the night. McGee followed with 12 also. Heaton was held to only eight points and three rebounds. "Overall our guards did a good job rebounding in both games. We needed to get to the free throw line and we did," said 38-3- 3. 10-1- 10-1- LaVetter.
