But for all of the engaged couples who attended the Elegant Events '99 Bridal Show, the hassle of rushing around before the big day was taken care of. More than 18 local businesses who help in wedding necessities gathered under one roof on Saturday, Jan. 30 from noon until 8 p.m. at the Dixie College Gardner Center Ballroom. This event, in its fourth year of helping young couples have a memorable wedding, was produced by Shannon Lewis, owner of Elegant Events. According to Lewis, the event has had such a positive response by the community and the turn-othis year has been greater then expected. For all of the engaged couples that attended, there was a drawing for a full paid wedding package. Honors Program Sponsors Field Trip to Southern California Sun News Services The Dixie College Honors Program is sponsoring a Science and Art field trip for 40 students to Southern California from Feb. 12 to 16. According to Glen Blakely, Arts Instructor and sponsor of the trip, students must have a 3.5 grade point average to attend the trip. Cost for the trip is $100, which includes bus travel to and from the Los Angeles area, three nights hotel lodging, and all admission tickets. The admission tickets also include Disneyland and the Van Gogh show at the Los Angeles County Museum. Other attractions may include visiting the Huntington Library Art and Botanical museum; Griffith Observatory and Telescope; the beach; Exposition Park; the and NaturAerospace, al History museums; the Los Angeles Art Museum and the Farmers Market. To attend the trip students, need to talk to Blakely and register for course Art 2990, a two credit course that meets Mondays from 5 p.m. Students will also need to pay $100 at the cashiers office before enrolling in the course.
