Sophomore Rob Rucli was crowned Mr. Dixie by the end of the night. "It must have been Ruch's talent that clinched it for him," said sophomore Mike Sherwood. A native hula dancer, Isaiah Laikupu was named first runner up, and Kody Keller was second runner up. Ruch's greatest wish was to see "all the children of the world jom hands and sing Kumbayah, and for them to have on their toast... cinnamon." Klein, a member of the AAUW, said this organization strongly encourages women to receive college degrees. The AAUW will give one set of awards to women graduating from Dixie College this spring or summer, who plan to continue their education at a university, while a second set will be awarded to women beginning their sophomore year at Dixie College. Last year a total of $4,000 was awarded in cash. Applications for both scholarships are due March 1. Some students returning in the fall who already have a scholarship at Dixie College may need to reapply. Those who have used their scholarships but would like to stay a third year, do need to two-ye- reapply.
