Soothing treatment Is always recommended. Enlarge the opening made hy the nail with a knife completely through the sole of the foot and apply linseed meal or bran poultice every twenty-tour twenty-tour hours, but do not poultice longer :han three days at a time, for if prolonged pro-longed too much softening of the hoof is likely to be the result. The shoe should In all cases be removed and the horse given complete rest and reduced re-duced diet until recovery takes place. |
