John : Smith Wednesday alt-rnoun introduced in the house a bill providing for an ; annual vehicle license on a graduating I scale. The bill provides that it shall be un-j un-j lawful for any person, firm, or corpora- tion to use, or. to cause or permit any ! of his or its agents or employees to j use, any vehicle upon the puMic roads ! of the state without first procuring a I license.- i The license lax is fixel as follows: Class A. On each passenger vehicle having only two wheels and one seat j for one passenger 50 cents. j I CKiss B. On each passenger veh.cle j ' having only two wheels and one seat for two passengers 1. Class C. On each passenger vehicle having four wheels and built to allow ' but one seat for two passengers, $1.50. ! Class D. On each passenger vehicle having four wheels and built to allow two seats for four passengers, $2. Class E. On each passenger vehicle having four wheels and built to allow more than two seats or to carry more than four passengers, $'!. All passenger carrying a itomobiles, motor cars, electric motors, runabouts, touring cars, or otner motor vehicle or cars propelled on the public roads by oil, gasoline, steam, denatured alcohol or electricity, shall pay an annual license li-cense fee as follows: Class F. On each such above described describ-ed motor vehicle, the annual license fee shall be assessed according to the horsepower of said vehicle and shall be 60 cents per horsepower for each horsepower horse-power of such passenger motor vehicle. All freight carrying vehicles used t upon the public roads shall pay an annual an-nual license fee as follows: J Class G. On each such freight car-: car-: rying vehicle of two wheels, having tires upon the wheels of less width j than four inches, 50 cents. Class H. On each such freight car-i car-i rying vehicle of four wheels, having ! tires upon the wheels of less width than four inches, $1 Cla,ss I. On each' such frieght car-: car-: rying vehicle of l'our wheels, having I tires upon the wheels four inches or more in width, the sum of 25 cents. All motor vehicles propelled on the public roads by oil. gasoline, steam denatured alcohol, or electricity to carry car-ry freight or to propel freight carrying vehicles, shall pay an annual license fee as follows: Class J. On each above described motor vehicle, built to operate at a speed of four miles an hour or less, the annual license fee shall be assessed according ac-cording to the horsepower of such motor mo-tor vehicle and shall be 10 cents per horsepower for each horsepower of such motor vehicle. Class K. On each such above described de-scribed motor vehicle, built to operate at a speed that exceeds four miles an hour, the annual license fee shall be j assessed according to the horsepower i of such motor vehicle and shall be 40 cents per horsepower for each horse-' power of such motor vehic le.
