Show E. S. A. NOTES "Leprosy destroys the body but sin destroys the soul. " This beautiful truth was left the students by Judge Christensen Chris-tensen in his very able address to the students last Monday. "The strength of being clean" was his text and the fine sentiments and beautiful thoughts he gave the students won him a host of friends. Come and see us again Judge you are very welcome Our Bishop Akelund lectured to the girls last Friday on '.Respiration and Ideal Girlhood." His lecture was very much enjoyed. Come and talk again Bishop. Several welcome visitors from this and other towns have been to see and encourage us recently. Nothing gives us more energy than to have our friends and patrons come and see what we are doing. The heating plant is now in order and the rooms are warm and comfortable. Some time ago Bro. Alma Williams presented the institution with a fine specimen of box-elder which was taken from the Temple Block, Independence, Missouri. We appreciate such specimens speci-mens and place them in the archives of our Alma Mater. We extend our thanks to you, Bro. Williams. Several boys turned out Tuesday evening and filled the trench so that the water could be placed in the building. We are keeping our eye on the loyal ones. President Iverson, of Carbon Stake, as a member of the board is having a library case made for our library. We are going to name this section the "Iverson Corner. " He is starting the section with a number of fine volumes and an invitation to all friends has been extended to donate to this section. Come and dance with us Friday night. Good conduct is the invitation. Classes are doing well and our number is still increasing, 130 and still coming. Plenty of room for that many more. Remember that: "Heights of great men reached and kept Were not attained by sudden flight, But they while their companions slept Wert toiling upward in the night." |
