AUtah state law says that teams cannot play during school, and so the Cowboys and Wolves played five innings the first game and seven, if light permitted, in the second game. The opener their high proved to be a high scoring af-- School Cowboys teamed up to e school days at Utah State College by winning the Intramural Basketball team Championship. Tyler Cornell and Bucky Orton played in the forty-si- x tournament. Both young men have been attending Utah State for winter their studies and activities there. quarter-enjoyin- g Two former Kanab High re-liv- Ladies golf kicks off season The ladies golf clinic was a huge. success. Twenty six ladies turned out for the event. Golf pro Gary Glover spoke giving helpful information, after which a short session was held outside with golf tips on lining up your shot properly. Gary will meet with the group every Wednesdayfifteen minutes prior to tee time and give a new tip each week. He is also providing each person with one free golf lesson. The clinic was followed by a four man scramble. Twenty-fou- r women participated in this. The green fees were waived for the day and everyone enjoyed a fun and free round of golf. We have golfers ofall levels of play from beginners on up, so come out and join us. By Kent Mason 3rd & 4th Grade Knicks 18, Celtics 14 It was 2 for the Knicks after one quarter. They stretched their lead to 4 at the half and held on in the second half for the four 4-- 8-- point win. Myron Hammon led the Knicks with eight points. Cody McKinney and Quade Johnson each hit four points, with Wyatt Kimball adding two. Chad Mackelprang carried the scoring load for the Celtics with eight points, six coming in the fourth quarter. Justin Dutton, Eli Kirby and Matt Kimball each added two points. Bulls 20, Magic 18 In this very close game tle Bulls got off to a great start and led 6 0 before the Magic countered with an eight point run of their own to take the lead. The Bulls came back to retake the. The seelead at the half saw battle saw the Magic go up by four, 4 after three periods of play. Quarter number four belonged to the Bulls, as they scored the only six points Kim to nip the Magic 20-1Lathim led the winning Bulls with 10 points. Cash Jessop added three buckets for six points, while Kacey Simmons and Trevor Lathim chipped in with tw( points apiece.' Ryan 12-1- 5th & 6th Grade Lakers 45, Rockets 19 The Lakers took charge early in this game and held a commanding 26-- 6 lead in the first period. The Rockets held the hot Lakers scoreless in the second frame, but could only manage to get four themselves to trail at the half. The Lakers took off again in the second half to win going away by 26 points. 26-1- 0 Josh Chambers and Orval Brownfield each netted 14 points for the winning Lakers. Skyler Palmer hit for 10, while Kevin Carman and Tim Corley each added four. For the Rockets, Kyle Wendling led the way with 10 points. Albert Wendling chipped in with four, while Brandon Johnson and Andrew Johnson Fredonia Baseball-Softba- ll sign-up- s RBIs. Jerron Glazier also had three hits. The Cowboys and Wolves nightcap proved to be less rugged and lower scoring. The Cowboy bats kept pretty quiet in the first three innings, as the Wolves led 0 after three complete. Sparking to life in the fourth were the Boys bats, as they ran two across the plate to knot the game up at two all. The game stayed dominated by the pitchers until the top of the sixth when Kanab added one to take a fair, as the umpires strike zone was less than kind. Kanab got first dibs as they ran two across the plate in the first. The Wolves, not having to swing the bat, answered with three runs to make it North Sevier after one. The Wolves then held the Cowboys scoreless and scored two more in the second. The score now read 2 North Sevier. Kanab responded in the top of the third, registering four runs, sparked by a Latimer Smith triple. With the score now the umpire walked in five more runs for the Wolves to make the score 10-- after three. The Cowboys were far from done scoring, however, as they blew the game open with 10 runs in the fourth. Everyone came up big in the inning to put the score at 0 for the Cowboys. North Sevier didnt have an answer for the Cowboys in the fourth, as they came up empty. In the fifth and final inning Kanab was held to no runs and had to hold North Sevier under six runs for the win. The Wolves clawed their way for four runs but didnt bring anything else, as the Cowboys held on to win, Kanab tallied 16 run-- on the game on 16 hits and committed one error. The Wolves scored 14 runs on three, yes three, hits and made three errors. Senior Travis Brinkerhoff paved the offensive road for the Cowboys, scored three as he went times and belted in four RBIs in the game. Latimer Smith also had a great day as he went with two of those hits being triples, scoring twice, with five 3-- 2 2-- 5-- 6-- 5, lead.
